Mama’ku – Van Jakarta tot de Molukken
A documentary by Sven Peetoom (Tussen Wal En Schip – Geruisloos Indisch) about dancer Cheroney Pelupessy, who travels to Indonesia for the first time with her mother. A film about migration, domestic violence and intergenerational trauma.

Meester Kikker (6+)
A cheerful family film about a schoolteacher who occasionally turns into a frog. When the school gets a mean new headmaster, the teacher finds himself in serious danger. Based on the children’s book by Paul van Loon.

Mon Oncle
Tati once again steps into the shoes of Monsieur Hulot. In this film, Hulot’s clumsiness turns his sister’s villa – equipped with various ultra-modern gadgets – into a complete shambles. Winner of the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film.

Moonlight
Modern classic that follows three stages in the life of Chiron, an African American boy growing up in a rough neighborhood in Miami, struggling with his identity, masculinity, and sexuality.

Moss & Freud
Supermodel Kate Moss (Ellie Bamber) is at the height of her fame when she is asked to pose for Lucian Freud (Derek Jacobi). A special bond develops between the uncompromising artist and the model.

Omaha
Road movie about a father who suddenly crams his two children and a golden retriever into his rickety car and sets off on a trip through the Midwest. A great adventure for the children, until they realise the reason for the journey.

On A String
A witty comedy full of absurd twists and turns about a New York violinist who, after graduating from a world-famous conservatoire, struggles with financial worries, love, family and a host of other difficulties.

Our Land
Documentary in which acclaimed filmmaker Lucrecia Martel (La Ciénaga, Zama) investigates the murder of indigenous activist Javier Chocobar and the legacy of colonialism in Argentina.

Parade
In Tati’s final film, two children find themselves behind the scenes at a circus. Tati himself plays the ringmaster, Monsieur Loyal, and is surrounded by clowns, musicians, magicians and acrobats.

Pietje Bell (9+)
A classic Dutch family film about a nine-year-old troublemaker from Rotterdam who, together with his secret club, takes on a gang of thieves.

Playtime
Tati’s most ambitious film was poorly received by critics and audiences in 1967 and left him in serious financial difficulties. Today, this film about tourists in cold, ultra-modern Paris is regarded as his masterpiece.

Ponyo On The Cliff By The Sea
Animated film by Hayao Miyazaki (Spirited Away) about the friendship between five-year-old Sosuke and a goldfish who wants to become human.

Rally – Van Parijs Naar De Piramides (5+)
An animated film full of zany adventures about a brilliant inventor who, together with his two friends – a cheeky magpie and a shy hedgehog – takes part in the legendary car rally from Paris to the pyramids in Egypt.

Remake
A personal documentary in which Ross McElwee comes to terms with the death of his son Adrian. Did he miss something? Through old family videos and memories, the filmmaker tries to make sense of how their lives unfolded.

Resurrection
An epic constructed from dreams in which Bi Gan pays homage to the art of film across six chapters, with each chapter embodying one sense, a period from Chinese (film) history and one film style. Winner of the Special Jury Prize at Cannes.

Sense And Sensibility
A witty and deeply moving Jane Austen adaptation about two sisters caught between reason and emotion in a world shaped by love, expectation and social convention.

Silent Rebellion

Classic thriller about the traumatized Vietnam veteran Travis Bickle, who at night has to watch the decay of New York with dismay. Taxi Driver is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year – just like Lumière.

Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma
An original, thrilling and comic meta-horror film about a queer director tasked with reviving a slasher franchise. To do so, she pays a visit to the mysterious star of the original film series.

The Beloved – Advance screening
Gripping drama about an unpredictable Spanish director (Javier Bardem) who casts his estranged daughter in his latest film. Selected for the main competition at the Cannes Film Festival.

The Choral
Heartwarming period drama starring Ralph Fiennes as a conductor who, during the darkest days of the First World War, takes charge of a choir in Yorkshire where almost all the men have left for the front.

The Departed (20th Anniversary)
A gritty crime film by Martin Scorsese about a police officer who goes undercover in the Irish-American underworld. It made Oscar history as Scorsese was honoured as Best Director for the first time – some thirty years too late.

The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (20th Anniversary)
Japanese animated film by Mamoru Hosoda (Mirai) about a teenage girl who accidentally discovers she has the gift of travelling back in time. She makes good use of her gift, until its downside becomes clear.

The Good Sister
A gripping psychological drama about a young woman who finds herself torn by her conscience when her older brother – with whom she has a close bond – is accused of rape.

The Invite
A hilarious and razor-sharp relationship and sex comedy about a couple (Seth Rogen and Olivia Wilde) who have grown tired of each other and organise a dinner party for their eccentric upstairs neighbours (Edward Norton and Penélope Cruz).

The Land Before Time (6+)
A timeless classic about friendship and hope in which young dinosaurs embark on an adventure together through a prehistoric world full of dangers.

The Last Waltz
Recording of The Band’s final live performance, considered by many to be the best concert film of all time. The legendary event was recorded on 25 November, 1976, exactly 50 years ago.

The Odyssey
Christopher Nolan (Oppenheimer, Interstellar) takes on a film adaptation of Homer’s classic epic about the Greek hero Odysseus and his ten-year journey home after the Trojan War.

The Portuguese House
A gentle, elegant drama about a professor abandoned by his wife who, on a whim, assumes the identity of a deceased gardener and takes up a position at a beautiful country house in the Portuguese countryside.

The President’s Cake
Charming neorealist Iraqi drama about a young girl in the 1990s – during the war with the United States – who sets out to find ingredients for a cake to honour Saddam Hussein’s birthday. Winner of the Caméra d’Or in Cannes.

The Red Shoes
A flamboyant Technicolor classic based on Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale of the same name. Powell and Pressburger transposed the story to the milieu of the famous Russian Ballets Russes company.

The Room Next Door
Pedro Almodóvar (Hable Con Ella, Dolor Y Gloria) makes his English-language debut with this penetrating look at mortality and friendship starring Tilda Swinton and Julianne Moore. Winner of the Golden Lion in Venice.

The Watermelon Woman (30th Anniversary)
Original mix of mockumentary and comedy about a black lesbian filmmaker researching black actresses in old Hollywood films for her debut. Included in Sight And Sound’s list of best films of all time.

Trafic
Tati’s alter ego, Monsieur Hulot, travels from Paris to Amsterdam in a multi-purpose camper van and becomes entangled in various chaotic traffic situations.

Vier Feest Met Dikkie Dik En De Verdwenen Knuffel
Animation film in which Dikkie Dik and Poes Muis go in search of Dikkie’s favourite cuddly bear.
