Juste Une Illusion
A catchy comedy about the ups and downs of a French family in the 1980s. From the directing duo of Intouchables.

Juste Une Illusion – named after the disco hit by the trio Imagination – is set in 1985 and follows Vincent, a boy of almost thirteen who is growing up in a suburb of Paris with his parents and older brother. There is more than enough tension within the household: his parents argue frequently, and his older brother, who unlike Vincent prefers listening to rock music (The Cure, Joy Division), wants nothing to do with him. In the background, the economic recession of the early 1980s also plays a significant role. On top of all that, Vincent is experiencing his first love.
Olivier Nakache and Éric Toledano are one of the most renowned directing duos in French cinema. Both were born in Paris and met in the nineties. Since then, they have worked together almost continuously as screenwriters, directors, and producers. Their films – including Intouchables and Hors Normes – are known for their humanity, accessible humour, and attention to social issues. The same goes for this latest project, a homage to their youth.
