An Italian comedy about a stubborn old shepherd who is the only one to stand up to the property developers who want to build a luxury holiday resort in his idyllic village in Sardinia.
On the cusp of the new millennium, two distant destinies collide on a stretch of unspoiled coastline in southern Sardinia. Efisio Mulas is a solitary shepherd, the silent guardian of a time that seems to have vanished. He has lived there all his life, between the sea and his animals, in the small house where he was born. On the other side is Giacomo, president of a powerful real estate group and a symbol of an Italy hurtling toward the future. He is determined to transform that stretch of coastline into a luxury resort. At his side is Mariano, the site manager and a man of practical affairs, whose task is to convince Efisio to sell that last strip of land.
With warmth and humour, La Vita Va Così tells the true story of a man who refuses to compromise his principles. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Sardinia, a tragicomic tale unfolds about connection, identity and the question of how much value we place on the place we call home. A real Sardinian shepherd was cast in the role of Efisio.
La Vita Va Così is a loving tribute to the strength of ordinary people and a heart-warming reminder that not everything is for sale.
