Quirky indie film starring Charli XCX as a tourist on vacation in Warsaw. When she runs into an old friend, she breaks away from the itinerary her devoted boyfriend has planned.
During a vacation in Poland, British tourist Bethany (Charli XCX) deviates from the romantic itinerary her devoted boyfriend Rob (Will Madden) has planned, fearing a marriage proposal. Instead, she meets an old friend, the florist Nel, and over the course of a few days, the two women rediscover an explosive chemistry in a low-key yet passionate encounter.
Erupcja is a typical Pete Ohs film. In fact, he usually works without a fully written script; the film is developed together with the actors during shooting. For this reason, actors in his films are often credited as co-writers. This is now also true for superstar Charli XCX, whose shy character Bethany is in almost every way the opposite of her ‘Charli’ persona, as cultivated on her iconic album Brat. Fun fact: Erupcja was filmed in the summer of 2024, better known as Brat Summer.
