Memories Of Murder
A darkly comic police thriller by Bong Joon-ho (Parasite, Snowpiercer) about the hunt for a serial killer in 1980s South Korea.

In the late 1980s, South Korea transformed from a military dictatorship into a democracy. During that same period, the country saw its first serial killer on the loose. Memories Of Murder follows the police’s unorthodox and rather amateurish investigation into the killer. Two detectives – one boorish and corrupt, the other thoughtful and incorruptible – are hunting the man who raped and murdered ten women in the rural province of Hwaesong.
Bong Joon-ho’s second feature film adheres to the conventions of the police thriller genre, but is also a portrait of South Korean society during the turbulent transition from dictatorship to democracy.
