Along Tongerseweg lies a place where centuries of Maastricht history are quite literally carved in stone. Three experienced guides take viewers past 26 remarkable graves and monuments, revealing the stories of the people buried there. Nature also plays an important role, including the tallest tree in the southern Netherlands.

From former mayors and war victims to a mysterious chapel, Maestricht Begroef reveals the many stories hidden in a place that might otherwise go unnoticed. Filmed entirely in the Maastricht dialect, the documentary is not only a journey through local history, but also a warm tribute to the city, its people and its language.

Please note that this film is in Maastricht dialect, with Dutch subtitles.
