Que Dios Nos Perdone
Two troubled cops hunt for an oddball serial killer in summertime Madrid, in this tense psychological thriller that mixes up police procedural, social critique, character study, black humour and Catholicism.
Madrid, summer 2011. Economic crisis. One and a half million pilgrims are waiting for the Pope’s arrival in a Madrid that’s hotter and more chaotic than ever. At the same time, several elderly women are brutally raped and murdered. In this context, detectives Velarde and Alfaro – two inspectors whom nobody wants as partners – have to deal with each other. They receive a clear order: solve the case as soon as possible, but keep it quiet. Their against-the-clock hunt will make them realise something they’d never imagined: neither of them are so very different from the killer.
