Vragen over film

Why is the cinema schedule only shown until Wednesday?

In the Netherlands, a cinema week runs from Thursday to Wednesday. Lumière programmes its films per week. The new weekly film programme can be found on our website every Monday afternoon. 

Do you offer a discount day?

On Thursday, the day on which new films première, you can buy a regular ticket for €9,- instead of €12,50.


Can I eat and drink during the film?

Drinks are permitted, but to ensure the best possible film experience for everyone, we do not allow food in the auditoriums.


When does the auditorium open?

The auditorium will open 15 minutes before the film starts.

Can I select my own cinema seat?

Our tickets come with reserved seats. If you book your tickets online, you can choose your own seat.

Do the films have an intermission?

To give you the best possible film experience, we generally do not have intermissions. We do hold a short break during long films.


Do the films have subtitles?

We screen films in the original language and most have Dutch subtitles. Some films are in English or are not subtitled. We always indicate this if this is the case.

I'm late for my film. What now?

Unfortunately, you will not be granted access to the film if you're late as not to disturb the other guests. At the cash register, we can change your ticket for a film that starts in a later timeslot, or we can give you a voucher. We do not give refunds.

Do I have to make reservations?

We advise to make a reservation on busy days (like Friday, Saturday and Sunday). You can make a reservation here.

I'm a vegetarian/vegan. Can Lumière take this into consideration?

Our menu includes several vegetarian dishes. If you have other dietary wishes, please call us so we can consult with the chef.

Can I become a member of Lumière?

You can buy a Lumière Passie for €20 per year. This card gives you discounts on regular films. Want to know more about the Lumière Passie?

Are you coming to Lumière by car? You can park at the following nearby locations:

  1. Q-Park Frontenpark, Frontensingel, 6219 PE Maastricht
  2. Sphinxterrein, Frontensingel, 6211 SC Maastricht
  3. Q-Park (Bassin), Maastrichter Grachtstraat 21
  4. P&R Maastricht Noord (free parking). Bus line 10 runs from here to the city center every 15 minutes. Please allow for extra travel time. Note: The last bus from the city center departs at 22:38 from the Boschstraat/Markt stop.

I am coming by bike. Where can I park it?

Do you have a cloakroom?

In our building several coat hooks are available to hang your coat on.

Is the building accessible for people with disabilities or limited mobility?

I lost something at Lumière. What should I do?

We have a lost property box at the ticket office. If you lose something, please stop by the ticket office.

Are dogs allowed?

Dogs are not permitted in the film auditoriums. In the rest of the building, they are as long as they do not bother our other guests.

Ticket sales & gift vouchers

How do I buy E-tickets?

Click on 'tickets' for the film you want to see. Once you have paid, your digital tickets will be sent to the e-mail address you provided. You can print out your tickets at home or download them onto your smartphone.

How do I reserve tickets?

Right now it's not possible to make a reservation. You can only buy E-tickets.

What are the payment options?

You can pay online via iDEAL. 

I bought tickets online but did not receive a confirmation e-mail. What should I do?

It may take a while for your tickets to appear in your inbox. Be sure to check your spam/junk mail folder, as they may have ended up there. If you don't receive your tickets within thirty minutes, call us on +31 (0)43-321 40 80.

Which gift vouchers does Lumière accept?

Lumière accepts the Nationale Bioscoopbon (national cinema gift voucher) and the MaDiWoDo (MondayTuesdayWednesdayThursday) voucher. Please note that tickets called 'Bioscoop Cadeau Card' and 'BioscoopCadeau' are not valid at Lumière.

I would like to buy a Lumière gift card for someone. Do you sell gift vouchers?

Yes, we sell gift vouchers for our restaurant, our cinema, and the film breakfast to the value of €10, and €20. You can also combine these vouchers.

I lost/forgot my tickets. What should I do?

Come to the ticket desk well before the film starts and our employees will help you.

What is the cut-off time for buying cinema tickets?

Our ticket desk sells tickets until the film starts. Ticket sales end once the film has started. Make sure you arrive on time.
