Mi Vida
After a lifetime of taking care of others, hairdresser Lou (63), from the Dutch town of Schiedam, enrols on a Spanish language course in the beautiful seaside town of Cádiz.
MI VIDA is about achieving your dreams. Dreams that we might consider to be ‘unachievable’ or ‘unrealistic’. Dreams we have lost somewhere in the maelstrom of daily life, somewhere in between the groceries, the dishes and managing the household accounts.
Loes Luca portrays a hairdresser named Lou, who has dreamt of living in Spain all her life, but, being a single mother, had no choice but to continue working in her salon, in order to keep her head above water for her family’s sake. After her retirement, Lou decides to pursue a tiny part of her dream by enrolling in a Spanish language course in Spain. Encouraged by her Spanish teacher, she goes on to try and fulfil more of that dream, which is met with strong opposition by her two adult children.
