Leave No Trace

A sensitive and thrilling portrait of people living on the margins, set in the Pacific Northwest, where a troubled veteran and his teenage daughter struggle to re-enter society after living for years off the grid.

Time & Tickets

A father and daughter live a perfect but mysterious existence in Forest Park, a beautiful nature reserve near Portland, Oregon, rarely making contact with the outside world. A small mistake tips them off to authorities, and they are plucked from their hidden world and put in the charge of social services. Struggling to adapt to their new surroundings, they embark on a perilous journey in search of a place to call their own.

With LEAVE NO TRACE, Debra Granik proves once again that she is an extraordinary filmmaker and a beacon for actors. Granik again displays her singular knack for finding a relatively unknown actress and entrusting her with the role of a lifetime. Granik did it with WINTER’S BONE, which starred a then-unknown Jennifer Lawrence. The similarly dazzling Thomasin McKenzie is radiant as Tom, a girl coming of age in atypical circumstances.

Debra Granik, USA, Canada, 2018, 104 min. English spoken, Dutch subtitles. With Thomasin McKenzie, Ben Foster, Jeffery Rifflard, Derek Drescher, Michael Draper.
