Drama in the spirit of the Dardenne brothers about the lives of three completely different French prostitutes.

Their names are Axelle, Conso and Dominic. They all lead different lives but share their profession as prostitute. Every day they cross the French-Belgian border to work in a brothel, until one day things escalate. Who exactly is it they are burying in the opening scene of the film? The bad boyfriend or the manipulative ex? Is it the bullying teenager or that one fragile, elder customer?
FILLES DE JOIE – ‘girls of joy’ – skillfully switches between the perspectives of the three women. Even though they will never be best friends, they do share their double lives and an engaging sense of humor. In the end, their story is about loyalty and solidarity; themes that are now more relevant than they have ever been.
