Jewish sisters Helene and Martha enter the vibrant life of Berlin in the 1920s. While Martha loses herself in the wild nightlife, Helene wants to study medicine and become a doctor. She is working as a pharmacy assistant when she meets Karl. While they dream of a future together, the Nazi regime advances.
