Annie Colère
French period drama starring Laure Calamy as a pregnant woman. Since she doesn’t want to keep the child, she comes into contact with a movement working for women’s rights.
A countryside village in France, 1974. When she accidentally becomes pregnant, Annie, a working mother of two teenagers, encounters the Movement for the Liberation of Abortion and Contraception (MLAC); doctors and women who perform illegal abortions in the public eye, practicing a free, safe, and respectful method. Gradually Annie will join their battle, which will bring a new meaning to her life.
As Blandine Lenoir only recently learned about MLAC’s existence, she wanted to make its importance known to the world. Because for every woman, it goes without saying that she can make decisions about her own body. Lenoir wants to give women hope and show that by working together, change is possible.
