An Unexpected Love
A smart and hugely entertaining romantic comedy about a long-married couple who are led to question the true meaning of love and desire after becoming empty nesters.
Marcos (53) is a professor of literature. Ana (50) is a psychologist and specializes in market research.
They have been married for twenty-five years. They lead a calm and pleasant life, and they feel overall satisfied and happy about their careers. They share interests, projects, friends, and their views on life. When their 19-year-old son Luciano leaves the family home, a new path for their marriage opens up. What at first just seems like a regular empty nest syndrome, will soon give way to a deep existential crisis for both of them in equal proportion. A lot of questions emerge for Marcos and Ana until, tied to their old habits of telling each other everything, they wonder if they’re still in love.
