Leslie is a West Texas single mother struggling to provide for her son when she wins the lottery and a chance at a good life. A few short years later the money is gone a Leslie is on her own, living hard and fast at the bottom of a bottle.
With her charm running out and with nowhere to go, Leslie returns home. Unwelcome and unwanted by those she wronged, it’s Sweeney, a lonely motel clerk, who takes a chance when no one else will.
TO LESLIE was aptly described by The Guardian as a ‘sad, sweet country song of a movie, with a steel-guitar twang of loss’. The soundtrack – featuring country music icons like Dolly Parton, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson and George Jones – fits perfectly.
