A seemingly perfect family has it all sorted out. A good job, a nice house and also expecting a child. Behind the appearances, however, drama unfolds when the young mother-to-be develops a dangerous eating disorder.
Hunter (Haley Bennett, known from The Girl on the Train) seems to be living a wonderful life with her husband Ritchie (Austin Stowell). He has just taken over the management of a successful family business when the two are expecting a child. But the pregnancy disrupts Hunter, who develops a compulsive eating disorder. And not just one, she has Pica, which implies a constant craving to eat inedible things. When the disorder threatens her pregnancy, her in-laws do everything they can to ensure the continuation of the family line. But might Hunter's strange and uncontrollable obsession hide a bigger secret?H
Swallow is director Carlo Mirabella-Davis's impressive debut and premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, where up-and-coming talent Haley Bennett took home the Best Actress award.
