The peaceful life in Cardamom Town is often disturbed by Casper, Jasper and Jonathan, who are constantly on the prowl. Since they live together with a lion, they urgently need a housekeeper. They come up with a plan to kidnap Aunt Sophie, who has a reputation for being a great housekeeper. The plan succeeds, but Aunt Sophie proves to outwit them. She soon calls the shots and lets the robbers do all the work. Little by little, the three realise they are trapped. The only solution to get rid of Sophie is to take her back to Cardamom Town. After yet another robbery, they end up in jail, but when the village is in danger, the robbers get a chance to prove that their courage can be of great value.
