On the first day of summer, Claire Darling single-handedly drags all of her possessions to the front lawn of her mansion, and puts everything up for sale. Why? Claire is convinced that it is her last day on earth. While dozens of curious bystanders and opportunistic neighbours fight over ridiculously under-priced Tiffany lamps and antique clocks, each objects stirs vivid memories of Claire of her flamboyant life. But soon, her long-estranged daughter Marie arrives, determined to stop the sale and find out the reason for her mother’s impulsive decision.
