The Coriolis Effect is a visually spectacular, parable-like film that juxtaposes the struggle of humans and animals facing the coming storm of climate change and uncontrollable pollution. A recurring narrative thread features the sea turtles on the archipelago, majestically floating in the ocean or looking extremely cute and vulnerable on the beach. Cape Verde is one of the world’s largest breeding grounds for these animals. They lay their eggs on the beaches where they were born. But if temperatures continue to rise, all sea turtles will hatch as females, leading to the species’ extinction. (source: Movies That Matter)
