A razor-sharp drama by Mike van Diem (Character) in which two close couples become embroiled in a manipulative battle after their daughters are involved in an accident in the Alps. When it comes to your child, do the ends justify the means?
Each year, the two couples go on holiday together in a shared holiday home in the Alps, accompanied by their teenage daughters. But this year, tragedy strikes: both girls are involved in a serious accident. As the girls fight for their lives, the seemingly close friendship between their parents begins to unravel. The couples become entangled in a manipulative battle driven by fear and grief. Old wounds are reopened, frustrations vented, and loyalties are tested.
Voor De Meisjes was directed and written by Oscar winner Mike van Diem, based on Lykele Muus’s novel We Doen Wat We Kunnen. The film has been selected as the opening film for the Nederlands Film Festival, the annual celebration of Dutch film and television held in Utrecht.
