Psychological thriller about a woman who works for a sex line in Ankara. When Istanbul is hit by an earthquake, she receives a call from a young client who is trapped under the rubble and begs for her help.

Turkey, 1999. Under the pseudonym of Arzu, forty-year-old Sabiha works in an erotic call centre. Call after call comes in. Then, suddenly, a terrible earthquake hits Istanbul. A teenage customer who spoke to her shortly before the disaster rings back. He begs her to save him. Sabiha can only think of one solution. She makes a phone call without realising that it will draw her into political issues beyond her control.

The Turkish-French directing duo Guillaume Giovanetti and Çagla Zencirci have been working together since 2004. Confidante is the fourth feature film they have made together. As before, they did not shy away from confrontation this time either, by exposing male domination in a traditional society.
