Michelle is enjoying her retirement in peaceful Burgundy and looking forward to the arrival of her grandson Lucas, who will spend the summer holidays with her. But nothing goes as planned. New film by François Ozon (Swimming Pool).
Michelle is enjoying a peaceful retirement close to her longtime friend Marie-Claude. When her Parisian daughter Valérie, with whom she has a conflictual relationship, drops off her son Lucas to spend his school vacation with his grandma, Michelle inexplicably serves her toxic mushrooms for lunch. Valérie quickly recovers but bans her mother from seeing her grandson anymore. Feeling lonely and guilty, Michelle falls into a depression… until Marie-Claude’s son gets out of prison.
QUAND VIENT L’AUTOMNE marks the prolific French director François Ozon’s 24th feature and follows hot on the tail of MON CRIME which was one of Ozon’s most successful movies at the French box office to date. Ozon has said that the film is inspired by a childhood memory.
