Peter van Rodijnen has spent the past twenty years filming in seas around the world. Inspired by the famous explorer Jacques Cousteau, Peter decides to capture the largest natural area of our country: the North Sea. As Peter embarks on his underwater journey, he soon faces major challenges. He encounters dangerous currents, poor visibility in murky water and violent storms, but remains determined to unravel the secrets of this natural wonder. Initially Peter thought he would be filming mainly large species such as the basking shark, orca and tuna, but he soon realizes that these are only part of a much larger system and that the health of the North Sea depends on all its inhabitants, from the smallest plankton to the largest shark.
