The Last Ride of the Wolves
Quirky debut film, at the cutting edge of documentary and fiction, about an old Italian crook who plans a final heist together with a group of ancillary fairground operators.
Pasquale, an old crook who lost his fortune to a gambling addiction, is planning his last big heist. For this he reunites The Wolves, a gang of northern Italian fairground operators who moonlight as criminals. They hope to provide themselves with a good pension by robbing a money wagon transporting twelve million euros. Pasquale, however, is unaware that this is not the only robbery that takes place.
THE LAST RIDE OF THE WOLVES is based on a real crime. Director De Michele himself says the following about it: ‘My life makes it possible for me to get in touch with the people in these worlds. I ‘steal’ stories from ‘other’ thieves and use them for my own purposes. This is without doubt the biggest heist of my life so far.’
