Jonás Trueba pays tribute to his hometown of Madrid through the personal quest of a young woman during a hot summer in the Spanish capital.
Eva, adrift and confused, is about to turn 33 and her decision to spend the August holiday in Madrid rather than in a sea resort will result in a journey of self-reflection. She goes through an emotional roller coaster of edifying revelations and unscheduled encounters that captures the subterranean vibe of daily city life. A highly immersive diary film that nails the minor and fleeing – almost inaccessible – moments, in order to soothe down the fear and anxiety of growing up. A mystical summer tale which makes our hearts beat to its colourful tone.
