Gripping drama about two neighbours who have been secret lovers for decades, until a sudden change pulls them apart.
Nina and Madeleine have lived across the hall from each other in the same apartment building for ages. Only a narrow corridor separates their apartments. Quite handy, because the retired neighbours are in a relationship that they have kept carefully secret. They dream of living together, in the same house, maybe in Rome? However, Madeleine hesitates: how is she going to tell her children? When Madeleine’s health deteriorates, Nina has to fight toibe able to be together with her lover.
DEUX, the debut of Filippo Meneghetti, is a marvelous and provound find, in which acting heavyweights Barabara Sukowa and Martine Chevallier are given ample room to shine.
