Toy Story (OV)
Toy Story is celebrating its 30th anniversary! Relive the adventure with Woody, Buzz and all your favourite toy heroes – or experience it for the very first time – on the big screen.
In 1995, Toy Story made film history. It was the first fully computer-animated feature film and also the debut of California-based Pixar, the animation studio that would go on to produce some of the most innovative and beloved animated films of all time — from WALL-E and Finding Nemo to Up and Inside Out. But that immense success story began with Toy Story, an animated fairy tale about toys that come to life.
Andy’s favourite toy is the cowboy Woody, but when he receives a new action figure – astronaut Buzz Lightyear – for his birthday, Buzz quickly becomes his new favourite. Woody is jealous, and the situation escalates when Andy chooses to take Buzz to a dinner party instead of Woody.
There is much to laugh about in Toy Story, for both children and adults. But beneath all the visual and verbal humour lies a serious theme: the fear of rejection and the fragility of friendship.
