Plus Que Jamais
Moving drama from Emily Atef starring Vicky Krieps (Corsage) as a young woman with an untreatable lung condition who wants to spend the time she has left on her own terms.
For years, 33-year-old Hélène has lived happily with her husband Mathieu in Bordeaux. Their life is turned upside down when Hélène is diagnosed with a rare lung disease. Mathieu is convinced that a lung transplant can turn the tide, but Hélène soon gives up hope of a cure and increasingly turns in on herself. When she discovers the humorous blog of a Norwegian man with cancer, she travels headlong to Norway to meet him.
In her previous feature film, 3 DAYS IN QUIBERON, Emily Atef portrayed three dark days in the life of Romy Schneider. In PLUS QUE JAMAIS, she also does not shy away from confronting the end of life. Her film is full of poignant and honest observations about death. The film was unintentionally given extra emotional poignancy by the death of Gaspard Ulliel, Hélène's husband in the film. He died at the age of 37 in a skiing accident.
