Interstella 5555 is an adventure film without words, supported entirely by songs from Discovery, Daft Punk's legendary second studio album. On a distant planet, a group of blue humanoid musicians are kidnapped by terrestrial militants led by the sinister Earl de Darkwood. When arrived on Earth, the alien band – their memories erased and their skin altered to a human colour – is presented as the new pop band The Crescendolls.

With this film, a boyhood dream came true for Daft Punk: they were great admirers of anime and iconic studio Toei Animation. After monster hit One More Time already featured an animated video, they decided to adapt the entire album into a film. The result was dubbed the first ‘house musical’ by Daft Punk, with a typical seventies look and an unmatched sense of style. The film, some 20 years on, proves to be as timeless as the French duo's music.
