Böse Spiele Rimini Sparta
Ulrich Seidl (Paradies: Liebe) interweaves the stories of downtrodden schlager singer Richie Bravo and his paedophile brother Ewald.
Seidl presented two new films in 2022: RIMINI and SPARTA. In RIMINI, we see the tragicomic adventures of a schlager singer who works as a gigolo on the side; SPARTA follows his brother, who, together with a group of boys, transforms a dilapidated school building in a poverty-stricken Romanian village into Fort Sparta, while having to keep his paedophile desires in check. And then there is their demented father, who sings Nazi songs in his nursing home.
When Seidl started filming, he intended to incorporate the two stories into one film. Later, the film was split into two parts. Seidl has now decided to put the two stories back together after all. The result is BÖSE SPIELE - RIMINI SPARTA and will be screened once only at Lumière. A unique chance for all Seidl fans to see the film the director had in mind. Those willing to give 3.5 hours of their lives to this film will be treated to a disturbing and desolate masterpiece that can safely be counted among the highlights of the controversial Austrian’s filmmaker.
