Madeleine Verdier is a young, pretty, penniless and untalented actress and Pauline is a young unemployed lawyer. They are dear friends and, with a prison sentence looming, Pauline rushes to Madeleine’s aid. With success: Madeleine is acquitted of the murder. This paves the way to a life of fame and success. However, Madeleine has not taken into account that the truth will eventually always come to light.

François Ozon is one of the leading contemporary French filmmakers. He is known for the intensity of his dramas (DANS LA MAISON, JEUNE ET JOLIE, FRANTZ). Recurring elements in his aesthetically beautiful films are satirical humour and human sexuality. American magazine Variety called MON CRIME Ozon’s most ambitious work since 8 FEMMES (2002). (ms)
