The life of elderly hippie Jeffrey Lebowski, better known as The Dude, is disrupted when a bunch of gangsters invade his home. They beat him up, urinate all over his rug and demand a hefty sum of money. The Dude soon realizes he is being mistaken for an incredibly rich namesake. When he pays the millionaire a visit to demand compensation for his rug, all hell breaks loose. Along with his friends Walter and Donny, The Dude gets caught up in a strange kidnapping case.

THE BIG LEBOWSKI, directed and written by brothers Joel and Ethan Coen, followed two years after their great success FARGO. The film is now considered a cult classic. The many legendary one-liners of THE BIG LEBOWSKI have become staples of popular culture, for instance: ‘Yeah, well, that’s just like, your opinion man’ and ‘This aggression will not stand man.’ One thing is clear upon rewatching this film: The Dude still abides.
