A Nice Indian Boy

Romantic comedy about a boy who introduces his white fiancée – an artist and orphan – to his traditional Indian family, to organise their dream wedding together.

Premiere

Naveen has been dreaming of a big Indian wedding ever since he was a child. There is just one problem: he’s attracted to men. Although his family knows he’s gay, he still feels uncomfortable with the expectations placed upon him – especially by his father.

When he meets Jay, he forgets those worries and the two soon fall in love. But once they get engaged, it’s up to Naveen to introduce his white boyfriend – who also happens to be an orphan and an artist – to his family, hoping they’ll accept him so that Naveen’s grand Bollywood wedding can become a reality.

A Nice Indian Boy is a funny and heartwarming film about the quest for love and acceptance within a family rooted in traditional values. Director Roshan Sethi effortlessly strikes a balance between humour, awkward moments, and genuine emotion. (vk)
