Drie Dagen Vis
Tragicomedy about a father-son relationship of few words. We follow Gerrie and his son Dick as they spend three days together in all kinds of offices and waiting rooms of agencies in Rotterdam.
Gerrie Molendijk has lived in Portugal for some time, but every year he travels to Rotterdam for three days for a routine check-up because of his COPD. He stays with his stepdaughter and spends time with his son Dick, who often struggles to navigate the world around him and hates that his father lives so far away. Dick hopes to reconcile with his father, but their relationship is one of few words and so father and son never seem to fully understand each other. The lack of communication quite often leads to mutual misunderstanding, especially when Gerrie’s plan comes to light: he wants to register permanently in Portugal.
Ten years after his acclaimed debut Tussen 10 En 12, Peter Hoogendoorn is back with the equally personal, sometimes hilarious and always sincere Drie Dagen Vis. Shot in fitting black and white, against the backdrop of the port city of Rotterdam and with empathetic and subdued acting by Ton Kas and Guido Pollemans, you’ll be reminded of how important it is to talk to each other.
