Dial M For Murder
Thriller by Alfred Hitchcock about a former tennis champion who devises an ingenious plan to have his wife killed.
In 1954, Hitchcock released two films: REAR WINDOW and DIAL M FOR MURDER. The first film grew into one of the great Hitchcock classics; the second, according to Hitchcock himself, no more than an in-between release. Nonetheless, DIAL M FOR MURDER still stands tall seventy years on. It is a chamber play – based on the play by Frederick Knott – and follows the fortunes of Tony, a former tennis champion who wants his adulterous wife killed. The wife is played by Grace Kelly, in her first film with Hitchcock. Tony concocts a plan for the ‘perfect’ murder, but of course things do not go as planned.
