House rules
Ticket sales & auditorium access
- Once the official start time of a film has passed (as stated on our website), it is no longer possible to purchase tickets for that screening.
- The auditoriums open no earlier than 15 minutes before the scheduled start of the film.
- Please be punctual: once the film has started, the doors close automatically and access to the auditorium is no longer permitted.
Behaviour in the auditorium
- To ensure an enjoyable experience for all guests, eating or talking (especially loudly) during the film is not allowed.
- Please switch your mobile phone off completely or set it to silent, and refrain from using it during the screening.
Access & age restrictions
- Lumière follows the national Kijkwijzer guidelines: According to Dutch law, children under the age of 16 are not permitted to attend films with an age rating of 16+ or 18+, even when accompanied by an adult.
- For films with other age ratings, children below the indicated age may only attend when accompanied by an adult.
- Children under the age of 8 must always be accompanied by an adult. Groups of children must be accompanied by at least one adult.
- ID is required if requested by staff, so please make sure to bring valid identification with you.
Alcohol & substance use
- Alcoholic beverages will not be served to visitors under the age of 18.
- Anyone who is clearly under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be refused entry or asked to leave the premises.
Safety & conduct
- Aggressive or disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated.
- Racist, sexist, offensive, or discriminatory remarks or actions in any form are strictly prohibited.
- Unwanted physical contact or sexual harassment will not be tolerated.
- Anyone who is clearly under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be refused entry or asked to leave the premises.
- In cases of serious misconduct or criminal activity, the police will be notified.
- Always follow the instructions given by our staff—for your own safety and that of others.
- If house rules are violated, the management or their representatives reserve the right to deny entry.
Animals
- Pets are not allowed in the auditoriums, with the exception of clearly identifiable guide dogs.
Liability
- The management accepts no responsibility for lost or damaged belongings left unattended.
Smoking & vaping
- Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited inside Lumière. These are only permitted outside, in the designated areas.
Recording equipment & use of images
- Professional photo, video, or audio recording equipment (such as cameras with interchangeable lenses) is not permitted without prior consent. Consumer-grade cameras are allowed.
- It is not permitted to sell any photos, videos, or audio recordings made at Lumière to third parties without prior written permission.
- Any promotional activities must be approved in writing well in advance.
- Lumière may make photo and/or video recordings of visitors during events. These materials may be published or distributed. Visitors will be informed of this in advance.
- By not objecting, you grant permission for your image or voice to be recorded and used, without any right to compensation or claims regarding portrait, copyright, or neighbouring rights.
Complaints
If you have any complaints, of any nature, please report them in writing to the Lumière management. Complaints should be submitted as soon as possible after the incident occurs.
