Filmblik Festival 2024 | Fall Edition

The filmmakers have already created a great poster, but we think you can come up with something even better! We’ll provide plenty of craft supplies, so all you need to bring is your imagination. Can you create a poster that truly brings the movie to life and makes everyone want to see it? After the workshop, we’ll display your poster throughout the building, where it will hang for the entire week.

If you were making a movie about a forest, what would it look like? Is it a spooky forest? Or maybe a cheerful one? Or a magical one? In this workshop, you’ll design a mini film set that can be as happy, magical, or scary as you like. You’ll learn how to use colors and objects to create a mood and bring a story to life. At the end, you’ll take your own forest home, where your characters can have their adventures!

To the annoyance of her cat, a friendly witch allows a dog, a bird and a frog, who have helped her find things she has lost, to ride on her broomstick, making it top-heavy. The broom is destroyed by a fire-breathing dragon that threatens to eat the witch, but the animals join hands to save her. She rewards them with a beautiful new broom, on which there is room for everyone.

In a large forest clearing, Beaver, a short furry animal with a big ego, inaugurates his masterpiece: a giant dam. With the help of two Rats, he blocks the flow of a river. The water level rises and in no time at all, a giant lake is formed. Beaver is very proud of himself but, to his disappointment, there is no one to admire his feat. Elsewhere in the forest, Fox and Hare have been throwing a party with their friends. After the party, Owl returns home and discovers strange streams of water flowing past his tree. He panics and flees into the forest. The following day, Fox and Hare discover that Owl is missing. They set out with their friends to find him, but instead discover the mysterious lake. Where has all the water come from? While they continue to search for Owl, the water continues to rise, threatening a flood. Their quest to save the forest will test their friendship to the limit. Victor is small and at first glance does not seem very brave. His big brothers think he is strange. They don’t understand his sensitivity, let alone the fact that he likes to sing. After all, singing is for birds and they are bats’ sworn enemies. Everything changes when one day Victor falls in love with the tropical songbird Sherida. Victor will have to gather all his courage to win her love and choose his own path in life.

From birth, young little deer Bambi has been incredibly close to his mother. As he marvels at the world around him, his mother teaches him the most important things for survival in the forest. As time passes, Bambi befriends more and more animals in the forest and also meets Feline, his future girlfriend. But with the arrival of autumn, everything changes. Bambi becomes an orphan when hunters shoot his mother. At that moment, however, Bambi discovers he is not alone, as his father – the Great Prince – watches over him. From his father, he learns to deal with the great dangers of life in the wilderness and more importantly, Bambi grows up.

BAMBI – EEN LEVEN IN HET BOS offers a new take on Félix Salten’s classic story. Director Michel Fessler (screenwriter of MARCH OF THE PENGUINS) has brought the story to life by following the lives of real deer.

The robot ROZZUM unit 7134, or ‘Roz’ has to survive in the wilderness. Roz was developed to support humans, but suddenly finds himself on a desert island. Slowly but surely, the robot builds a bond with the animals. Roz even takes care of an orphaned baby goose.

THE WILD ROBOT is a heartwarming story of self-discovery, exploring what it means to be connected to the life around you. The film was directed by Chris Sanders, who was already nominated three times for an Oscar for best animated film, for HOW TO TRAIN YOU DRAGON, THE CROODS and LILO & STITCH.
