National Climate Week: Eat More Trees
What would happen if we based our food production on natural ecosystems? In the introduction and post-screening discussion, we will explore the themes of the documentary Eat More Trees in greater depth.

As part of National Climate Week 2026, Lumière Cinema and IVN Maastricht are screening the documentary Eat More Trees. The film explores how regenerative agriculture and food forests could offer solutions to the declining soil quality and loss of biodiversity facing modern agriculture. What would happen if we based our food production on natural ecosystems?
The screening will be introduced by Pim Martens, Professor of Planetary Health at Maastricht University and owner of Het Vuurpad, a food forest and vineyard. After the screening, we will join Pim Martens, Geert-Jan Nieboer from Luboschland food forest, and IVN Maastricht nature guides Kik Snoek, Irma Kokx and Carlo Poolen for a discussion about the potential of food forests, the future of our food production, and what we can do ourselves to contribute.
