Exploring Cinema – A World Tour
The Exploring Cinema series, a collaboration between Lumière and United World College Maastricht, celebrates film as a border-crossing medium with groundbreaking works that have shaped world cinema over the past century.
Film is an art form that transcends boundaries, is almost universally accessible, and captures us in unique ways—visually, aurally, emotionally, and intellectually. The series guides you through iconic films: from the shadowy alleys of German Expressionism to the poetic brilliance of modern cinema. The Exploring Cinema series celebrates film as a medium and offers the chance to rediscover remarkable films while inviting a deeper analysis of the medium.
Each screening begins with a 10-minute introduction and ends with a 30-minute guided discussion, led by experts, film students, educators, and professionals.
