50 Years of Lumière | Birthday Party
Fifty years of Lumière? That calls for a (disco) party. We’re transforming our Grand Café into a seventies dance floor, with vinyl tunes by DJ Disco Patrick.
In October 1975, Lumière first opened its doors. Fifty years, thousands of films and lots of movie nights later, it’s time for a celebration.
The Grand Café will receive a full-on seventies makeover for one night only. Discoball hanging from the ceiling, low lights, high volume and the dance floor is yours for the taking. DJ DiscoPatrick will play his favourite vinyl tunes from the ’70s: from disco and soul to funk. In short: music that will make you want to move.
And because we’re a cinema, the night starts in our screening rooms. In all six cinemas, films from different decennia will play. From 1976’s Themroc (one of the first films ever screened by Stichting Filmhuis Maastricht) to a completely mysterious sneak preview from 2026. Six rooms, six decennia of film history.
Dress code?
Dress to impress yourself. Show up in your favourite dress, suit, wear glitter, velvet or don’t. As long as you feel good.
Film and party?
Buy a ticket for film + party (€22,50) or join us from 20:30 at just the party (€12,50). Your ticket includes a welcome drink.
