Open Air Film Festival 2026: a new record with 5.700 visitors
Twelve nights of film under the stars and two sunny summer mornings at the cinema. The seventh edition of the Lumière Open Air Film Festival has come to an end – completely sold out, and one we’ll remember fondly.
We danced along with Marilyn Monroe in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, experienced BL!NDMAN’s live soundtrack to Donnie Darko, enjoyed a solar eclipse as the ultimate opening act for Kneecap and hosted two delightfully heartwarming mornings for children. Even the downpour that arrived yesterday, just fifteen minutes before the start of our closing film, La Grande Bellezza, couldn’t put a dampener on things.
But the festival is about so much more than twelve nights of watching films. It’s about coming together outdoors to share the magic of cinema, welcoming new faces and creating space for special events and collaborations, such as the short films made especially for the festival in partnership with CineSud.
This year, we welcomed more than 5,700 visitors – around 600 more than last year – and we couldn’t be prouder. Our audience ranged from 2 to 90 years old: first-time visitors to Lumière, lifelong regulars, people who joined us for a single evening and those who had tickets for all twelve nights.
