Rémi Bezançon & Jean-Christophe Lie | France, Belgium, 2012 | 78 min | Dutch spoken

During his flight from North Africa, Maki meets a young giraffe. Shortly after their first encounter, the giraffe is captured. The plan is to take the animal to France as a gift for the French king, but Maki does everything in his power to prevent this. Meanwhile, he himself is being pursued by the slave trader. He sets off for Europe in a hot-air balloon, a perilous journey that takes him to Alexandria, Marseille and the snow-covered Alps, amongst other places.
