Tangerine
Sean Baker (Anora, The Florida Project) offers a raw and humorous look at a day in the life of two transgender prostitutes in Los Angeles who are searching for revenge, love and recognition.

On a sun-drenched Christmas Eve in Los Angeles, transgender sex worker Sin-Dee races through the streets looking for her boyfriend and pimp. Together with her friend Alexandra, she embarks on a chaotic, comic and moving odyssey through the fringes of Los Angeles.
Director Sean Baker makes documentary-style films about people on the margins of society – outside the American studio system. He gives them a human face without romanticising or moralising. Although the themes of his films are heavy – poverty, exclusion, abuse – Baker always manages to bring humour and lightness to his films. Tangerine was filmed by Baker with three iPhone 5s and still looks fantastic. The film was nominated for four Independent Spirit Awards (an American film award intended to honour independent filmmakers); transgender actress Mya Taylor won the award for Best Supporting Actress.
