The British metal pioneers have now been around for half a century. Time for a comprehensive portrait of the band’s career. Featuring archive footage, new interviews and contributions from the likes of Lars Ulrich, Chuck D and Javier Bardem, the documentary attempts to capture the phenomenon that is Iron Maiden. The London band enjoyed its heyday in the 1980s, but still manages to get packed festival grounds singing along to epic rock songs such as The Trooper, The Number Of The Beast and Run To The Hills, often featuring that characteristic galloping rhythm that propels Iron Maiden’s music so wonderfully. The band’s lyrics often deal with military history, mythology, and classical English literature and poetry. And, of course, the documentary also features Eddie, the band’s legendary mascot.
