Gohan
A touching and funny drama about the life of a white stray dog in Thailand. Three owners, three stages of life, and a dog who changes his owners forever.

A little white dog crawls out of a cardboard box in front of a Thai supermarket. We fall in love with him straight away. So does Hiro, an elderly engineer, who decides to adopt the dog and name him Gohan (Japanese for ‘rice’). But Hiro cannot offer Gohan a permanent home.
The trilogy Gohan tells the story of the love and bond between a stray dog and his three temporary owners. With each owner, Gohan is given a new name and a completely different life. But above all, each chapter offers a different perspective on love and explores what it means to feel at home.
Each chapter was directed by a different director, resulting not only in three distinct film genres but also an emotional rollercoaster. The film was inspired by the true story of Hima, the stray dog who plays the older Gohan. Hima was found by director Baz Poonpiriya at a market in northern Thailand. Puppy Gohan, incidentally, achieved Instagram fame via @kori.the.sun.
