Club Kid
A charming comedy about a New York club promoter whose wild nightlife is turned completely upside down when he is saddled with the responsibility of caring for a nine-year-old son he never knew existed.

For Peter, who is gay, life revolves entirely around the nightlife. He’s invariably the last one to leave the party. However, the consequences of his hedonistic lifestyle are becoming increasingly apparent. He wakes up with a hangover every day, deals drugs to scrape together some money, and is no longer as hot and sexy as he once was. His bestie Sophie, with whom he’s been hitting the New York party scene for years, has had enough of him. The abyss is in sight when Peter is suddenly confronted by Arlo: one of his pansexual flings has resulted in a child. Peter is forced to take him under his wing – a task for which he seems completely unsuited.
With Club Kid, comedian, actor, singer and social media personality Jordan Firstman makes his directorial debut. The film manages to combine biting humour with warmth and tenderness. Club Kid, for which Firstman wrote the screenplay himself and in which he also plays the lead role, was a huge hit at the recent Cannes Film Festival and sparked a bidding war between various distributors. According to Variety, A24 paid no less than 17 million dollars for the distribution rights.

Advance screening in collaboration with COC Limburg

“The magic of Cannes is that there are always one or two unknown films that completely blow you away. In the 2026 edition, one of these films was Club Kid, the directorial debut of director, actor and comedian Jordan Firstman. He also stars in the lead role of a New York socialite (a club kid) with a turbulent life, who suddenly finds out he fathered a child a long time ago during a club night (another club kid). It doesn’t happen often that a film is this moving: the humor is razor-sharp, and so is the drama. Paired with an incredible soundtrack (Cocteau Twins! Elliott Smith! Arthur Russell!), Club Kid is an irresistible debut.”
