Backrooms
Psychological horror film based on a viral internet hit about a furniture salesman who discovers a labyrinth of abandoned office spaces. For fans of liminal spaces.

When furniture salesman Clark discovers a hidden portal in the basement of his store, he becomes trapped in another reality: the so-called Backrooms. His therapist – played compellingly by Renate Reinsve, known for the Norwegian dramas Sentimental Value and The Worst Person in the World – tries to rescue him and uncovers a mysterious maze of deserted office spaces.
Backrooms is the latest addition to the film slate of trendy production company A24 and is directed by the sensationally young Kane Parsons. He rose to fame in 2022, at just sixteen years old, when he uploaded his short film The Backrooms (Found Footage) to YouTube. Created using Blender and homemade visual effects, the video went viral and amassed tens of millions of views. With this feature adaptation, Parsons brings his concept to the big screen. The result is a completely singular film and above all a masterclass in production design.
