The films of David Lynch - a retrospective
Lumière proudly presents a complete retrospective dedicated to the films and life of filmmaker David Lynch. In the exhibition Someone is in my House the Bonnefantenmuseum highlights the underexposed but versatile artistry of David Lynch in all its facets. This exhibition forms a logical starting point for a film retrospective that spans no less than thirty years of film career: from debut ERASERHEAD from 1977 to the longawaited new edition of TWIN PEAKS in 2017. A unique opportunity to (re)discover the oeuvre of one of the greatest filmmakers of our time. No other filmmaker knows how to slip into our subconscious with so much precision and imagination, and to present us with a world that is alienating and recognizable at the same time. His films form a mirror for our own, Lynchian inner world. They form the essence of cinema: the ability to dream collectively. David Lynch is the perfect guide for this.
This retrospective is organized in cooperation with Bonnefantenmuseum Maastricht within the framework of the David Lynch exhibition Someone is in my House and is is officially part of the sideprogram of the exhibition.
