Rocketman
Taron Egerton is Elton John in Rocketman, an epic musical fantasy about the uncensored human story of the extravagant pop icon’s breakthrough years.
Director Dexter Fletcher – who stepped in to direct BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY after Bryan Singer was fired by producer Fox – calls his film ‘a musical fantasy’. It is the story of a small town boy who became a world star. The lead role is played by Taron Egerton, who sings Elton John’s classic hits himself.
After the huge success of BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY, several film producers are turning to biopics about pop singers. Feature films about Aretha Franklin and Amy Winehouse are currently being prepared. Upcoming later this year is YESTERDAY, a new musical comedy by Danny Boyle, in which the songs of the Beatles plays an important role.
