Mary Poppins (60th Anniversary)
Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke return to the big screen after sixty years in this re-release of one of the most popular musical films of all time: Mary Poppins.
The British banker Banks family wears out nanny after nanny. The cheeky children decide to take matters into their own hands by drafting their own advertisement for a new governess. Their demands are clear: the new nanny must bring sweets and absolutely must not have a wart on her nose. Miraculously, the ad ends up with Mary Poppins, who arrives at the Banks family floating in on an umbrella. Strict but fair, she turns every task into a game and – together with a touch of magic and chimney sweeper Bert – ensures that the Banks family starts to see the world through fresh eyes.
MARY POPPINS was nominated for thirteen Academy Awards in 1965 and won five of them, including the one for Best Actress (Julie Andrews).
